Understanding SEER and HSPF

SEER: Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio. This measures the efficiency of your cooling system. The higher the SEER, the more efficient your system is.

HSPF: Heating Seasonal Performance Factor. This measures the efficiency of a heat pump. High HSPF ratings indicate more efficiency when heating your home.

How do the Carrier Heat Pumps work, and why are they beneficial for your HVAC system?

Carrier Heat Pumps utilize the environmentally friendly Puron™ refrigerant. The heat pumps utilize a two-stage compressor which pumps refrigerant through the system. The Copper Microtube™/Aluminum fin coil transfers heat outside in order to maximize cooling and provides resistance to corrosion. The Infinity™ Electronic circuit board controls low and high speed operation. It tracks the previous cycles, and allows the system to automatically select the best setting for optimum efficiency. Weather Armor Ultra™ protection is the combination of a galvanized steel cabinet, a louvered coil guard, baked-on powder paint, and painted ceramic-coated screws that protect your heat pump. There is also a filter drier that removes moisture and other contaminants that may harm your system. The Carrier Silencer System II™ optimizes air flow thereby reducing noise and minimizing vibration. The components of the silencer system are: a silencer top, an integrated fan motor and forward-swept fan blade, a compressor vibration isolator plate, a sound hood, and split-post compressor grommets.
